The Trailer

Took a while to get to this point but we're at the tweaking stage. Brandon finished a 5 minute rough cut (which my mother-in-law liked) last Friday, down to 4 yesterday and down to 3 as we speak. So, it's time for adjustments because we seem to have found the trailer story.

That is thanks to Diana Heom (www.dianaheom.com), our graphic designer, who we met with last night. Watching through a handful of scenes and the trailer, she commented, "Don't you want to show that it's more about the two parallel wars?" Oh yeah!

After saying over and over again for the last year that the movie was about a prank war that takes place during the First Gulf War, I seemed to have forgotten that that was what the movie was about. So, we were making a trailer that looked like any other high school movie. Now, it looks like Fifth Form again.

Diana will be working now on what the title will look like. From here on out, there will only be one design for Fifth Form. It's about time. And we're lucky to have her. Hopefully, the trailer will officially go up on the site next week (maybe sooner) and I'll be able to send out our "It's a wrap" update less than a month after the actual wrap. Not a bad pace so far.

I need to keep telling myself this. After you finish such a monumental amount of work in three weeks, it's been hard for me to adjust to the pace of editing, and real life, for that matter. Four days on the Cape for Nathaniel and Sarah's nuptials this weekend should solve that.
