The Rough Cut

We have over 1/3 of the film in rough cut/assembly stage and the pieces do, in fact, go together. Not as well as they will once Brandon gets done with them but it's good to see that there's a movie there. My article in the Haverford magazine should be out soon and it looks like I may get a writing assignment from my high school magazine as well.

I got to see a number of donors last night at Kent and Pete's wedding reception. Kent and Pete were my bosses at 1550 Hyde and they threw our launch party helping us to raise almost $7,000 to start off the production. I am incredibly grateful for that and their support throughout. So, it was heartening to see that, after being together for almost 20 years, they were finally allowed to marry in the rotunda of San Francisco's City Hall.

If there are any of you who still think that this isn't the way it should be, I encourage you to come to San Francisco and stand in the rotunda and look at the faces of the steady stream of gay couples that are getting married. They're doing about one every ten minutes and the majority, as Kent and Pete found out when the judge said "Oh, wow, two San Franciscans", are not locals. They're coming in from all over hoping that someday their states will legalize or at least recognize marriage for all.

Thanks, fellas, congratulations and Mazel Tov. Hope you have an exciting time starting anew!
