Hustlin'

Working feverishly through my son's first two weeks on the planet, we have finished a festival application ready cut of the film. It has a brilliant but temporary score by recent David Letterman guest Randy Cordeiro, an as yet unlicensed soundtrack, and a lack of sound effects but, at 88 minutes, it is solid entertainment in my book.

It certainly doesn't feel short. In fact, I think it's evidence of how bloated many films are nowadays. I just watched a brilliant Argentine movie called Los Muertos that clocked in at under 80 minutes and was vast in what it was able to take in. It is also a good idea to watch very short movies with a newborn. I'm excited to see what some people have to say about it as I slowly invite people to watch.

And I'm excited to see how nervous I'm going to be over the next two months as we begin to send out applications.
